Popular Cartwheel Hat

A Cartwheel hat is a type of women’s wide-brimmed hat that was popular in the United States in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The hats are typically made from straw, although other materials such as cotton or wool can be used. Typically, it is worn at an angle to show off the curve of the brim, rather than being worn at the back of the head in the manner of a halo hat.

They are typically decorated with a large, floppy bow on one side, giving them their distinctive “cartwheel” look. While they were once popular, cartwheel hats have since fallen out of fashion. However, they remain a popular choice for summer weddings and other special occasions.

The cartwheel hat is a timeless fashion accessory that has been around for centuries. Its simple design consists of a circular brim that helps to protect the face from the sun and a central band that helps to keep the hat in place.
These hats are specially designed and could be wherever you want and give you the look you’re after!

History Of Cartwheel hat

In the years running up to World War I, the cartwheel hat became fashionable. In 1914, the Milwaukee Sentinel defined the new style as follows: “Do not be surprised if you see a well-dressed woman wearing a huge hat. The new huge hats have broad brims and low crowns that are not visible when worn, giving them the appearance of cartwheels tilted at an angle.

During the 1930s, the cartwheel hat was seen in movies and on the runways in 1934, an American publication reported the current Paris fashion for straight and curled-brim cartwheel designs.

While a cartwheel design by Hattie Carnegie was featured on the cover of American Vogue in 1938, the style is most closely linked with the post-World War II era of poverty and make-do-and-mend. By 1945, new cartwheel types with open crowns were available.
